DHQ Encoding Checklist

This checklist is intended to help DHQ authors and encoders ensure that their encoding is complete as well as accurate.

Figures

• All figures should include a figDesc describing the image in words (serves as a surrogate when the image cannot be displayed)
• Figures should all be assigned @id values, in serial order: figure1, figure2, etc.
• Captions should not be preceded by the words "Figure 1", etc.

Divisions

• Make sure your div elements are nested in a way that accurately represents the structure of the text. If a section of the article contains subsections, these should be represented as div elements nested inside the div for the main section.

• Headings should be descriptive and should not be preceded by numbers.
