- Recent income distribution: just under $27K
- $15,450 expenditures

- Managing abstracts and website
- Shared conference support infrastructure from year to year, and shared infrastructure for the various publications
- Issues of peer review to be discussed this year
- DHQ (John Walsh)
- New issue released on Thursday, June 26
- Infrastructure changes over the past year
- from Open CMS to Cocoon: smooth transition
- modifications to the DHQ schema
- new issue: improvements for bookmarking, sharing, and a new toolbar (wordlists, etc.)
- This year: commenting features, integrated blogging into journal
- Several special issues are ready to go
- Significantly more special issues vs. regular contributions: how to deal with this
- Technical Assistant at Indiana (paid by ACH & IUB)
- DHQ has some oddities in the documentation
- inconsistent formatting, some other problems
- D. Hoover will email some suggestions/requests on improvements to Stefan
- Important issues for DHQ to address
- issues of promotion & tenure
- has a standard peer review process
- Only electronic journals are called to explain their peer review process.
- DHQ editors need to be willing to write letters of support for authors published in the journal
- Issue: Some base the quality of a journal on its rejection rate. DHQ has a low rejection rate, but a process of working with authors to improve papers
- suggestion: count each review prior to final submission as a rejection?
- special issues don't improve the rejection rate
- How can DHQ distinguish itself?
- embedding interactive components, otherwise taking advantage of its online-ness
- Could also provide viewing/download statistics to show the impact of published articles
- LLC (Stefan, on behalf of Marilyn Deegan)
- Copy has slowed down (not many contributors this year as opposed to last year), but this is not a concern
- Focus of the journal: "LLC" rather than "Literary and Linguistic Computing", to open up beyond literature and linguistics.
- Problems with plagiarism
- One instance of outright stealing
- One more subtle case: not clear whether or not it was actually plagiarism, and neither party (the author or the accuser) was completely satisfied by the outcome.
- There is a need to be more vigilant, and encourage OUP to adopt some plagiarism seeking into their system/workflow
- Website (Elli)
- ADHO etc. moved servers successfully
- ACH website is getting a new design; a designer and students are ready to be hired
- Needs
- better CMS
- the site needs to be: informative, interesting, and attractive
- more outward facing
- dynamic content, but not so dynamic that it isn't possible to keep it up-to-date
- Members should send comments and suggestions on the website to Elli
- Jobs & Mentoring (Stefan)
- Jobs Database
- open to the entire DH community, not only ACH membership
- a tool for outreach
- 20-25 jobs posted on the DB since early May
- Entries come from Humanist; people can also send jobs to Matthew Zimmerman for inclusion in the DB
- Desirable to have a more open entry system, but not a straight blog mechanism; need to have a timing system so obsolete jobs aren't included.
- Next Year's Digital Humanities Conference (Neil Fraistat)
- At the University of Maryland, College Park (near Washington, DC)
- June 22-25 (Monday through Thursday)
- Housing will be available both on campus and in hotels near campus and in DC
